Job Description
|
As a Senior Linux Embedded Software Engineer you will assist Kronos' embedded development team to design, implement, and test next-generation firmware for Kronos 4500 terminal. Seeking a senior Linux embedded engineer with the demonstrated track record of designing and implementing Linux based solutions on small embedded devices. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve software issues in open-source or third party code. Particular emphasis on integrating and extending existing Linux or third party services in an embedded environment. Highly developed software knowledge and excellent problem-solving skills.
QUALIFICATIONS
* BSCS or BSEE along with 8-10 years related experience MSCSE desired.
* Five more years experience building and troubleshooting Linux based embedded systems.
* Solid understanding of development methodologies and product lifecycle.
* Ability to work smoothly within a medium-sized high-performance development team.
* Ability to implement solutions through design of robust interfaces, using industry standard techniques and protocols.
* Ability to develop software using a strong testing methodology throughout the lifecycle.
* Experience with VxWorks or other Real Time Operating systems a plus
* Experience with Motorola PowerPC 859/860 a plus
SKILLS
* Good interpersonal communication skills.
* Must possess an aptitude for conceptualizing and articulating thoughts and ideas to others in the organization.
* Possess excellent written skills to communicate strategies and details of propose solutions to functional or integration problems.
* Ability to design test strategies and test code to diagnose problems and validate new code.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently. Provide detailed status reports as requested by management.
* Ability to analyze problems in a highly systematic fashion.
* Must be well organized, and detail oriented.
* Demonstrated strong character and work ethic in a team environment.
Languages
* Expert knowledge of C, C++, Java.
