Job Description
|
The Senior Architect is responsible for providing a variety of technical and non-technical consulting, project management, and advisory services for clients both inside and outside the company. The senior architect functions in both a pre-sales and post-sales capacity, with broad horizontal skill sets and a core competency in technology. Senior Architects are competent in business areas such as leadership, management, relationship building, and client interaction.
Position Objectives:
• Demonstrate technical and advisory leadership for customers, sales, and other consultants and effectively communicates the technical and business message
• Advance the art and methodologies used internally for the delivery of customer solutions
• Successfully lead complex customer accounts or company projects, bridging between the needs of the customer and the company
• Provide training and mentoring to other consultants as they progress in mastering their professional skills and as they learn company and industry best practices
Essential duties:
• Work with Business Development Managers and Sales Account Teams to provide technical and business expertise, inner workings of the consulting business and delivery of consulting solutions, such that company service offerings and technical capabilities are maximized on each customer engagement.
• Proposed solutions exceed customer expectations by creating additional value and the need for future engagements through implementations that meet technical requirements, target schedule milestones and budgets.
• Provide local teams with in depth knowledge of company products and capabilities with an understanding of how they are delivered and provide mentoring to local consultants.
• Provide technical, project, and relationship management for customer engagements
• Provide thought leadership and implementation methodologies to all levels of hosting and network operations, service level delivery, and the application of operational processes
• At least twice a year, write a white paper and make an area-of-specialty presentation in front of customers or at industry user groups
Required skills:
• Have a high degree of competency in one or more technical areas: security, systems, databases, applications development, telecommunications, or networking; and a working knowledge in several other areas
• Minimum of 7 to 10 years relevant professional and senior level experience, including previous technical management background
• Know how to gather, compile, and analyze data to make practical recommendations at the tactical or strategic level to executive management
• Strong sales support skills, recognizing client needs for current and follow-on opportunities, gains customer respect, and possesses good relationship building skills
• Exceptional communications capabilities, including leveraging other people, giving presentations, and speaking publicly
• Initiative and ability to work in a self-directed manner
• Takes accountability for problems or failures, responsible for own actions, demonstrating strong ethics and integrity, and practices consistent follow-through
Desired skills:
• Certification(s) in areas of expertise
Education or Equivalent Experience:
• BS/BA and minimum 10 years relevant experience in one discipline with strong knowledge of at least one other discipline and 2 years technical management.
Job Family Levels:
Master Architect minimum 12 years relevant experience in one discipline with strong knowledge of at least two other disciplines, 5 years technical management, and public presentations.
