JOB DESCRIPTION: Leading manufacturer of video microwave products for broadcasting, law enforcement, and military seeks experienced Applications Engineer. The successful candidate shall have engineering experience with professional video systems as well as microwave RF (radio frequency) transmission systems. The Applications Engineer reports to the Sales Manager along with other Sales Engineers, Product Managers, Web Site Coordinator, and support personnel. You will apply your microwave engineering experience to innovative applications or modification of existing ones in order to meet client needs. This calls for a combination of sales, design and engineering skills; you will also provide product training and technical assistance and troubleshoot problems.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:
1. Applications / Technical Support to customers and inside/outside sales force
2. Create quotations and proposal documents according to requirements specifications
3. Design wireless video communication systems using products from a variety of sources
4. Applications support to customers engaged in the evaluation of BMS products
5. Create block diagrams describing proposed system
6. Assist Sales Managers and Sales Engineers with calls and Technical presentations
7. Must be able to review and revise Sales Orders in conjunction with Customer to ensure all relevant
technical information is available as required for Engineering Design and Product Manufacturing /
Systems Integration.
8. Maintain System Configuration information in Quotation and Estimating data
9. Provide on site Technical assistance to Sales Team for Industry trade shows
10. Generate and maintain Product Application Notes, Product Datasheets, & Brochures
11. Provide technical feedback on product performance
12. Provide technical competitive analysis
13. Characterize and evaluate product designs
14. Keep WEB site coordinator updated with relevant technical content
15. Benchmark standard products against market leading and competing products
16. Interface with relevant departments within company to minimize time to market on all new product developments
17. Assist in the flow of product design from concept through to production hand over

QUALIFICATIONS: Ø Education: BSEE or equivalent education and experience in electronic communications
Ø Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years experience with video RF/microwave and applications engineering. Hands-on experience of RF/Microwave products and testing with an appreciation of microwave board level design and build.
Ø Skills/Technical Requirements: Experience with Microsoft Office applications e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook Experience with standard drawing applications such as Visio, Cad key, and AutoCAD. Good understanding of design to manufacturing chain. Good mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills. Good customer/subcontractor and team liaison skills. The ability to establish technical and personal credibility within technical peer groups. Good interpersonal skills. A team player
Job Conditions: Domestic and international travel may be required.
