Operations Support Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Entrieva currently has a position for a Operations Support Engineer to support in
Application Management of their Hosted Clicksense Solution.
You will be responsible for two main areas;
1. The application management support. Functions include :
- Deployment, Testing of application rollouts,
- Application Monitoring
- Log Files Management
- Troubleshooting Application related faults/Errors
- Application Traffic,Performance Reports Generation
2. The hosting management support. Functions include:
- Application Infrastructure Management that includes Coordination of linux servers,
CISCO CSS Load Balancers,Firewalls setup at managed facility
- deployment, configuration of Tomcat, Apache and Hosted application
- monitoring/managing troubletickets that will require coordination with hosting vendor.
Off-hours Application infrastructure support [Deployment of new releases etc] will be required.
REQUIREMENTS
- 2-5 years of total experience in a similar role
- Experience with Linux Administration [RedHat, Debian etc]
- Experience With Shell Scripting using Perl, Linux, General Performance Monitoring Tools etc. to
automate administrative tasks
- Stong experience in installation/configuration/management/troubleshooting of Tomcat and Apache.
- Knowledge of Cisco CSS Load Balancers, Firewalls etc.
- Knowledge/Experience with Windows Network Administration for internal IT network management.
- Experience with Veritas Tape Backups etc.
- Skills in troubleshooting, software testing and debugging
- experience/or knoqwledge of Java software development Environment
- Knowledge and experience working with Web Services, Web Apps.
- Knowledge/Experience with Application Monitoring Tools - Nagios,Patrol Express.
- Troubleshooting Application errors/Faults and recovery management.
- Experience with Processing of Log Files [Apache/Tomcat]
- Experience in benchmark tests for server capacity and requirement analysis
- Experience in Documentation etc.
- Developing Test Cases in support of on going application maintenance testing.
- Ability to implement Application Maintenance and Testing Plans to regress new code releases.
- Experience in Deployment of Web Applications in Linux Environment.
- Performing Load /Performance Tests on Apache/Tomcat Apps.
- strong user & computer support skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- This includes solid analytical, troubleshooting, written and verbal communications skills.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies
- ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively manage own time in a fast paced work environment
- Ability to show leadership and initiative in solving problems/issues etc.
- Experience interacting with Customers amd providing technical support
- Experience in Interacting with Data Centers/Hosted Environments.
